2024 TA Conference | “Trust and Intelligence” Main Forum Successfully Held in Xiamen

On April 19, 2024, the “Trust and Intelligence” Main Forum of the 2024 TA Conference, hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) was successfully held at the Xiamen International Conference Center Hotel.

Wang Peng, First-level Inspector of the Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Huang Shizhong, Vice Chairman of the Xiamen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, and Yu Xiaohui, Head of CAICT, attended and addressed the “Trust and Intelligence” forum. Zhu Hehua, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Wang Chenglu, CEO of Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., LTD., attended the main forum and made keynote speeches. Zheng Yan, Deputy Director of the Consumer Products Industry Department of the MIIT, Xie Shengbin, member of the Party Group of Fujian Communications Administration and Director of Xiamen Communications Administration, as well as leaders and industry experts from many provinces and municipalities across the country, from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the China-Russia Digital Economy Research Center (Российско-китайский научно-исследовательский центр цифровой экономики) and other units, participated in the event. Representatives from the Xinghuo ecosystem were also present at the grand forum. A panel discussion around “New Quality Productive Forces and Digital Infrastructure” was also organized there.

The Industrial Internet Identifier Resolution System is an important link for the new infrastructure of the industrial Internet. In recent years, the construction of China’s Industrial Internet Identifier Resolution System has gotten off the ground and has vigorously grown step by step, producing fruitful outcomes, said Wang Peng at the forum. In the next step, the Ministry will further strengthen the high-level support of the basic base, deepen the deep-level expansion of key areas, consolidate the synergistic guarantee of scale development, accelerate the expansion and extension of the industrial Internet identifiers to all economic and social fields, facilitate the large-scale development of the industrial Internet, so as to contribute more to boost the new type of industrialization and the building of a country characterized by strong manufacturing, network, and digital power.

Huang Shizhong said in his speech that Xiamen actively promotes the development of the digital industry, where the software and information service industry has become an important engine for economic growth, reflecting its sustainability of sound growth, obvious industry agglomeration effect, solid backbone enterprises, strong innovation capacity, and other characteristics. Under the guidance of the MIIT, CAICT has constructed ASTRON Supernode (Xiamen) and its Southeast Innovation Center has settled in Xiamen, making this southeast city a crucial participant in the Xinghuo ecosystem and enabling it to conduct comprehensive cooperation in the fields of industrial Internet, blockchain and digital transformation among BRICS countries.

“Xinghuo BIF” launched by CAICT in 2020 is an innovative exploration of decentralized identifiers and blockchain technology based on the identifier resolution system, which has formed an ecological network with multi-regional coverage and multi-industry penetration in China and constructed international supernodes and officially launched services in Malaysia and China’s Macau SAR, pointed out by Yu Xiaohui. Recently, with the strong guidance and support of governments at all levels and industry parties, CAICT has carried out effective application practices around identifiers and explored and formed a number of innovative achievements and development modes, making it the world’s largest industrial practice at present. The CAICT will strengthen the research on major strategic issues such as identifiers, blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, new Internet, web3, etc., and delve into the path of cutting-edge technology and industrial development with the idea of identifier + new technology, identifier + new scenarios, and identifier + data elements.

Jin Jian, Director of the Institute for Industrial Internet and Internet of Things (IIIIoT) of CAICT released the report “Xinghuo Strategy and Ecology”, stressing that trust and intelligence are the new quality productive forces in the intelligent economic space and that the identifier system marks the most critical and important universal facility and service in intelligent society. Xinghuo Strategy is the development strategy of industrial Internet identifiers, serving as the key pillar for the national strategy of building China into a country characterized by strong manufacturing, network, and digital power, as noted by Jin. In response to the grand vision of building a community of shared future in cyberspace proposed by President Xi, the Xinghuo Strategy aims at building China-led digital space connectivity standards, core facilities, and service systems at the infrastructure level represented by identifiers, and promoting the construction of a cyber economic space of reciprocal interconnection and equal common governance while forming development advantages for China’s industries through digitization.
